23 pages. The full day National Seminar on Social Compliance was organized on 27 August 2019. It was aimed at creating awareness among members of the rubber and rubber products industry on the need to meet social compliance standards which have become increasingly important in the supply chain of many global brands. Today, many global brands are imposing their corporate Codes of Conduct or other social compliance standards on their suppliers of goods and services. These global brands are scrutinizing workplace conditions of suppliers related to labour, health and safety, environment and also business ethics and some also require their suppliers to undergo audit such as SMETA, BSCI, SA8000 and others. This presentation was one of the three presentations conducted that day to provide knowledge on the social compliance standards and sharing of experiences by the captains of the rubber products industry.
